Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said 375,000 doses of the second Sinopharm batch of 500,000 doses will be used as the second dose for those who already received the Chinese jab.

He also added that 125,000 doses would be used as the first jab for people in Kurunegala, Galle and Matara.

The Government of China donated 500,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccines to Sri Lanka, which arrived in the country on 25.

They were accepted by a top government delegation including Minister Namal Rajapaksa and State Minister Channa Jayasumana.
