The police have arrested a person in Aluthgama for leaving a supermarket without a mask.

The man was photographed by media while pushing a wheelbarrow filled with grocery items. The photograph went viral on social media.

A number of persons resorted to using wheelbarrows as the police banned the use of private vehicles for those going out to buy grocery items today.

The government instructed the public to walk to the nearest shop, buy the items for a week and return to their places of residence as soon as possible
