Justice Minister Ali Sabry stated in Parliament that the "Yahapalanaya Government" prepared detailed plans to remove the Colombo Port City from the authority of the Colombo Municipal Council.
Taking part in the debate over the Port City Bill, Ali Sabry said the opposition's double standards were laughable as the Megapolsis and Western Province Development Ministry was pushing for the same legislations for the Colombo Port City.
"They even proposed to set up a company with the Chinese company holding 51% ownership. That was their plan. Why are they opposing to this now?" the Minister said.
