In a moving speech, Major General (retd) Jagath Dias, who led the 57th Brigade during the final phase of war, said parents of the LTTE militants who died in the battlefield should be allowed to celebrate their love ones.
"They are our own children, our own brothers and sisters. They were first born as children of this land before they became terrorists. The majority of them were trained forcibly. It's absolutely fair to allow their parents to conduct commemorations without any political Tamashas," Dias said in an interview with a TV channel.
