Former Western Province Governor Azath Salley has been hospitalized after suffering a sudden heart attack.

Salley has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for immediate treatment.

He was being held at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) under detention orders.

The former Western Province Governor was taken into the CID custody in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks.
