Senior Lawyer Suren Fernando has explained the Supreme Court determination on the Port City Economic Commission Bill which was presented to Parliament this morning.

The Supreme Court determined that several clauses in the bill were inconsistent with the Constitution and therefore required a special majority in Parliament and the people’s approval at a referendum.
