Public Security Minister Sarath Weeraselera has been photographed without a mask at a function organized by the Police.

Weerasekera was seen without a mask at the launch of the Special Waterborne Operations Squadron attached to the Police Special Task Force (STF).

This happened while the Department of Police had launched an island-wide campaign to arrest those who fail to wear masks in public. Over 400 people were arrested yesterday for not wearing masks in public, Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.

Some of them were manhandled by police officers and taken to police stations.
