Mrs. Sri Lanka Pushpika De Silva said the fiasco surrounding the contest was a pre-planned conspiracy.

She said there were many people behind the conspiracy and that she knew about them and did not want to reveal their names.

De Silva said she was insulted from the beginning of the contest and that she had informed Chandimal Jayasinghe, the Sri Lankan director of the pageant, about it.

"This was driven by complete jealousy and hypocrisy. I was scolded on stage with harsh words but I am in a position to forgive all of them," she said.
