Minister Sashindra Rajapaksa, who had a narrow escape in the Medagoda area, said his life was saved by the diety of Kataragama.

Rajapaksa’s vehicle was swept away by a wave of flood while it was crossing a bridge across the Pubbara Oya in Obbegoda.

Rajapaksa and his guards saved their lives by jumping out of the windows of the vehicle. He said it was the good deeds he committed that protected his life and he was grateful for God Kataragama for the divine intervention.
