"Missing" GMOA President Tells TV Channel That He Will Undergo PCR Test Today: Says He Was Away From Home When PHIs Visited

GMOA President Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya, who went missing following the detection of a COVID19 patient at a party hosted by him, has told a TV station that he will undergo a PCR test today.

The GMOA President has stated that he is under quarantine and has adopted all safety precautions.

Padeniya said when the PHIs visited his personal residence in Kelaniya on Wednesday he was not at home and that was the reason for the "confusion".

Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) said last eving that they had not been able to contact GMOA President Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya who has been identified as a first level contact of a COVID19 patient.

The MOH has directed PHIs in Kelaniya to place him under quarantine after one of the doctors who had attended a party hosted by Dr. Padeniya at his residence in Kelaniya contracted Covid-19.

The party was held on the 8th and the doctor who has contracted COVID19 is a resident of Uggalgoda, Minuwangoda.

Minuwangoda Regional Medical Officer of Health Dr. Anuja Fernando has instructed to quarantine all those who participated in the party with the infected doctor.
