Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has written to MP Diana Gamage informing that her party memberhsip has been suspended.

In a letter to the MP, Premadasa said Gamage's membership would be suspended with imemdiate effect in accordance with the powers vested under him by the party constitution.

Premadasa said Gamage had violated party discipline by voting in favour of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution breaching a collective decision made by the party's parliamentary group.

The Opppsotion Leader said the Central Committee of the SJB would proceed with disciplinary action against Gamage.
