Social media is abuzz with speculation as the number place of the SUV, driven by the daughter of a senior Police officer, was mysteriousy removed by an unknown person, after an accident in Colombo yesterday.

The vehicle crashed into the Nanda Motors showroom near the Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Colombo 7 yesterday evening damaging a luxury car inside the showroom. The number plate of the vehicle was removed just minutes after the accident.

The police said the driver had lost control of the vehicle due to high speed at the time of the accident.

It is learnt that the driver was the daughter of a senior police officer and the said officer’s son was also a suspect in the last year road accident, in which the traffic OIC of the Borella police died.
