President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa today advised health authorities to take action to restrict persons from leaving Western Province to other areas.
Addressing the daily review meeting of the COVID19 Task Force, President Rajapaksa said the majority of Covid19 cases have been reported from the Western province and steps should be taken to protect the vulnerable groups from the disease.
The President said that over 90% of COVID-19 deaths are related to chronic and no-communicable diseases.
The President also added that immediate measures should be taken to distribute goods to areas that have been isolated.
He also ordered officials to make Dispensaries situated island-wide fully operational as soon as possible.
