A person who was receiving treatment at the hospital reserved for COVID19 patients in Hambantota has died yesterday (10th).

The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old DK Suranga, a resident of Hettigoda, Kelaniya. He was admitted to the COVID19 Treatment Unit of the Hambantota General Hospital on the 1st. He died of a heart attack while preparing to go home after completion of treatments.

He was re-admitted to the General Hospital in Hambantota yesterday (10th) morning due to a heart attack and died while receiving treatment at the Emergency Unit, the Director of the hospital said.

Doctors say the patient had a previous heart attack. His last rites will be performed at the Lunama Crematorium in Ambalantota in accordance with quarantine regulations.
