A tense situation took place at the Manning Market this morning due to a confusion on the reopening of the market.
An earlier announcement that the Colombo Manning Public Mall would be reopened today (09) had led to a large influx of vegetables into the Colombo Manning Market.
But with no one to purchase the vegetables, some were seen protesting the ad-hoc decisions made by the government and the difficulties faced by suppliers.
However, commenting on the matter, Police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said a proper solution will be found within a few hours.
The government lifted the curfew on the Western province at 5 AM today with restrctions still in place on a number of areas in the Colombo and Gampaha districts.
