President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today said that the behaviour of the people cannot be consistently determined by imposing curfew alone and it was impossible to place the country under lockdown until a feasible solution is found to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The people must prepare themselves to continue with their normal way of life while following health guidelines,” he said at a meeting at the Presidential Secretariat today.

He also instructed the police to strictly implement the curfew in respective areas to mitigate the spread of the virus.
