Prison sources say that a prisoner named 'Massa' has died due to a clash between two groups of inmates at the Monaragala Prison this afternoon (03).

Efforts have been made to quell the clash and one officer has been admitted to hospital with injuries.

The Army and Police Special Task Force teams have been sent to the prison to control the situation.
