The second phase of the distribution of Rs. 5,000 allowance for families in the Gampaha District who lost their livelihoods due to the imposition of the curfew will commence from November 03.
The Ministry of Tourism announced that Minister Prasanna Ranatunga has instructed the Divisional Secretaries to complete the grant within a week.
Under the second phase, 464,254 families in the Gampaha District are eligible for the Rs. 5,000 allowance.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism further stated that an allowance of Rs. 5,000 has already been given to 80,000 families in three police areas in the Gampaha District where the quarantine curfew was implemented under the first phase.
