Western Province curfew extended by another week

Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva said that the curfew imposed on the Western Province would continue till 5.00 am on November 09.

The government earlier said the curfew would be lifted tomorrow at 5 AM. Making a special statement this afternoon, the Army Commander extended the curfew period due to the rising number of COVID19 cases in the country.

In addition, a curfew will be imposed in the Eheliyagoda, Kurunegala and Kuliyapitiya police divisions from 5 am tomorrow until 5.00 am on November 09, the Army Commander said.
