US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the US would continue to cooperate on health, humanitarian and economic issues that ensure sustainable and inclusive growth for all of Sri Lanka's diverse communities.

The remarks were made this mornng during Pompeo's discusions with Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

During the discussion, the US Secretary of State reaffirmed his country's commitment to a soveriegn and secure Sri Lanka.

The meeting between the US Secretary of State and the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister followed a brief interaction with the local and international press.
