Hilton Colombo and Shangri-la Hotel have temorarily suspended operations.
The exact reasons for the suspension of operations have not yet been revealed.
It is learnt that a staff member at Hilton Colombo has tested positive for COVID19 — a claim that is yet to be verified by the hotel management.
However, many events that scheduled to take place in a number of hotels in Colombo have been postponed indefinitely following the surge in COVID19 cases in the country and the subsequent curfew in some areas.
