MP Rishad Bathiudeen who was arrested this morning and produced before the Fort Magistrates' Court has been remanded until October 27.

The MP was been arrested for violating the Presidential Elections Act by transporting voters from Puttalam to Mannar on the day of the last Presidential election allegedly abusing state resources.

Meanwhile, seven people who aided and abetted the MP to evade police arrest have also been arrested by the CID.
