Education authorities took measures to arrange a special hall for 160 students sitting for Advanced Level examonation in Gampaha after a student was tested positive for COVID19.

All of them were in the same examination hall with the infected student.

The student, who lives in the vicinity of the Bandrix garment factory in Minuwangoda, was diagnosed with Covid-19 following a PCR test.

The Zonal Director of Education said that steps have been taken to inform the Commissioner of Examinations about the situation.

The infected student has been allowed to appear for the remaining subjects of the Advanced Level from the IDH Hospital where she has been referred for treatment.
