The Samagi Jana Balawegaya will discuss its course of action against the 20th Amendment to the Constitution at the parliamentary group meeting, this afternoon.
The SJB group meeting will take place at the parliamentary complex under the auspices of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
The party has already decided to vote against the Amendment. It also filed several lawsuits seeking a special determination that the bill warranted a referendum, in addition to a two-thirds majority in Parliament.
The Supreme Court's opinion on the legality of the bill will be conyeved to the House by the Speaker on October 20th.
The ruling party has already shot down the SJB's request to allowcate four or five days for the parliamentary debate on the 20th Amendment bill.
