Officials of Lanka Coal Company summoned before COPE Committee

The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) of the 9th Parliament will convene on the 6th of this month, said its Chairman, Prof. Charitha Herath.

Accordingly, the COPE Committee is scheduled to meet from the 6th to the 23rd.

Lanka Coal Company Limited will be the first state-owned company to be summoned before the COPE Committee .

Officials of the Lanka Coal Company have been summoned on the basis of a special audit report submitted in 2009 regarding the procurement of coal for the Norochcholai power plant.

Meanwhile, the Road Development Authority (RDA) Project Management Unit with regard to the Central Expressway has also been summoned before the COPE Committee on October 20 to review the feasibility study and the procurement process.
