US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the novel coronavirus COVID-19.
In a tweet, the US President said, 'Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!'
Yesterday it was confirmed that one of Trumps closest aides Hope Hicks had tested positive for the infection, pushing the US President and his wife into quarantine.
The news comes as Trump enters the last stretch of his re-election campaign. CNN reported that at 74 years old and obese, Trump falls into the highest risk category for serious complications from the disease, which has killed more than 200,000 Americans and more than 1 million people worldwide.
