Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo Prof.Kshanika Hiriburegama has been appointed Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to France.
She is also a member of the Viyathmaga movement which played a crucial role at the last Presidential election.
Hirimburegama will take over from current High Commissioner Asoka Girihagama.
Prof. Hirimburegama was the 17th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Colombo. Prior to the appointment she was Head of the Department of Plant Sciences and a member of the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka.
She is a past pupil of Visakha Vidyalaya, University of Peradeniya, University of Colombo and UCLouvain in Belgium (UCLouvain - Université catholique de Louvain).
