Musician Jayantha Rathnayake, a son of veteran singer Victor Rathnayake, has passed away.

Family sources confirmed that Rathnayake was receiving treatment at the Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama.

Rathnayake was 51 at the time of his demise.

He rose to popularity in the early 90s as a prominent member of the Siha Shakthi band.
