The Colombo Fort Magistrate has granted bail to former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga.

The Magistrate has given him time until the 24th of April to fulfil bail conditions.

Weeratuga, a close relative of the Rajapaksa family, was arrested on his return to Sri Lanka earlier this year.

He is under investigation over the MIG deal and several other cases.
