Two-hour power cuts have been reported in many parts of the country without prior notice.

The reason for the power-cuts is not yet announced by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).

Several prominent activists have raised questions on social media if the CEB is carrying out unannounced power cuts as it cannot meet the daily energy demand of the country.

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said last week that a power crisis was imminent.
