President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has instructed authorities at the Bandaranaike International Airport to appoint new officers for speedy processing at immigration counters.
The President also ordered to expedite the opening of a new terminal and to open a new area for improved taxi service and a number of other measures to facilitate passengers.
The President undertook a sudden inspection visit at the airport earlier today to get a first-hand experience of the difficulties faced by the passengers.
He previously visited the Department of Motor Traffic in Verahera, Battaramulla and the Colombo National Hospital.
