Former Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, who was admitted to Lanka Hospital on December 26, has been discharged last Midnight.

The former Minister received medical treatment for 18 days at the private hospital.

While he was undergoing treatment, Senaratne was arrested by the CID over the controversial white van press conference, which was held before the last Presidential election.

He was later released on bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate.

Subsequent to his release on bail, the Attorney General's Department filed a revision application against the Magistrate's decision.
