The Government Analyst will begin investigations today on the authenticity of telephone conversations involving UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayakae.

It is learnt that the Police are in possession of over 120000 telephone conversations recorded by the UNP Parliamentarian.

The conversations have been handed over to the Government Analyst's Department following directions from the Nugegoda Magistrate.

Ramanayake. however, has not challenged the authenticity of the leaked telephone conversations which have sparked a major controversy.

The Colombo Crimes Division (CCS) is conducting investigations into Ramanayake's telephone conversations.
