Minister Bandula Gunawardena said the supporters of the UNP are finding themselves in a deeply embarrassing situation due to the "leaked" telephone conversations involving Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake.
"Not only the leaders of the party but the supporters too can't face the public," Gunawardena said, speaking to reporters about the recent revelations.
"The Police and the judiciary have plummeted to an unprecedented low where judges and senior police officers are forced to go behind uneducated politicians asking for promotions," he added.
"This is what 'Yahapalanaya' ultimately gifted to the country," he added.
"What is in the public domain is only a small portion of the telephone conversations that have been recorded. Many revelations will surface in the near future," the Minister also said.
