Sudharman Radaliyagoda has been removed from the Deputy Director General post of the Independent Television Network (ITN) with immediate effect.

Radaliyagoda is a strong supporter of the Rajapaksa camp and was involved with the SLPP's election campign.

Sources within the President's Secretariat confirmed that the Ministry Secretary had sent a letter to the ITN Chairman ordering Radaliyagoda's removal from the post.

The Secretary had also informed the Chairman to report back on the execution of the decision to him and the Secretary to the President.

Radaliyagoda faced multiple allegations over alleged corruption and other malpractices under the previous Rajapaksa administration.
