Sri Lankan cricket Thisara Perera has joined the Gajaba Regiment of Sri Lanka Army as a Major.

Perera is expected to represent the Army Sports Club in inter-club games.

Perera has been a regular member of the Sri Lanka Cricket team over the past 10 years although he has not been able to secure a permanent place in the team.

He is known to be a useful all-rounder and an aggressive lower-order batsman.
