Garnier Banister Francis, the Swiss Embassy worker who is at the centre of an abduction controversy, has been granted bail.

She was produced before the court by the Criminal Investigations Department this morning.

She was arrested by the CID and remanded till today for fabricating evidence and aiming to bring the government into disrepute.

She has already been presented before the National Mental Health Institute in Angoda for a medical examination.

The government maintains that her allegations are "bogus" and no abduction took place.
