Former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who has been arrested by the CID, was transferred to the Prison Hospital a short while ago.

Senaratne was undergoing treatment at Lanka Hospitals, Narahenpita, following a sudden illness.

He was arrested by the Police while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

A doctor attached to the Prison Hospital examined the former Minister earlier today and recommended the transfer.

He has been arrested over the controversial "white van" press conference which took place nearly a week before the last presidential election.
