Sujeewa Rajapakse, Senior Chartered Accountant an Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, has been appointed the Chairman of People's Bank.

Rajapakshe was previously the Treasurer of Sri Lanka Cricket. He has held many senior positions in the public and private sector and has a proven track record in the financial sector.

The appointment has been made by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa who is also the Cabinet Minister of Finance.
