Inspector-General of Police Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Ministry Secretary Hemasiri Fernando further remanded till January 6, 2020.

They have been arrested over security lapses leading to the Easter Sunday attacks claiming over 260 lives.

Meanwhile, Jayasundara has come under investigation over the accident involving former Minister Champika Ranawaka who was arrested recently.

It has been revealed that several police officers have admitted to acting under the instructions of the then IGP in relation to the accident.
