Serious questions have arisen over the future of the Board of Investments as it has not been placed under any ministry.

Although the Gazette notification with regard to subject allocation of ministries has been issued, the Board of Investment has nor been included as a subject under any ministry. Several ministers, however, have been appointed to look into different aspects of international trade and investments

It was earlier speculated that a top personality in the private sector would be appointed to head the BOI by the new government.

The BOI previously came under the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade.
