Royal park murder convict Jude Shramantha Jayamaha—who was granted Presidential pardon early November—has left the country.
On November 29, the Supreme Court issued an interim order preventing Jayamaha from leaving the country till December 11.
The ban was extended till June 1, 2020 today.
Former President Maithripala Sirisena issued a statement last month claiming that Jayamaha was pardoned following an intervention by MP Athuraliye Rathana Thera and several other Buddhist monks.
Sirisena's decision to pardon him sparked a controversy given the seriousness of the crime he committed.
