Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi invited President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to visit Pakistan.
Qureshi today handed over an invitation on behalf of the Pakistani government to the newly-elected Sri Lankan President.
"FM calls on the President of Sri Lanka. Bilateral issues, trade, investment and people to people contacts discussed. FM handed over a letter from President to President of Sri Lanka and invited him to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience," Pakistani Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal tweeted.
The invitation came a day after Rajapaksa concluded a successful visit to India.
