Former Minister A.H.M. Fowzie is likely to lose his parliamentary seat following the SLFP's decision to remove him from the party.

The SLFP has decided to remove Fowzie from the party due to the latter's decision to support the UNP during the presidential election campaign.

The party's decision will be formally informed to the Speaker by the SLFP General Secretary, informed political sources said.

The SLFP is also expected to take action against Vijith Wijayamuni Zoysa, who is also aligned with the UNP.
