President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has instructed authorities to refrain from closing roads to facilitate his movements.

The President has also ordered authorities to reduce his convoy to four vehicles from 20.

Sources close to Rajapaksa said the President's security would be handled by the Commando Regiment.

They added that the President's security staff would be cut down drastically, as a highly-trained team is now in charge of the Presiden's security.
