President-elect Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has invited Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, party leaders, and ruling party MPs for his swearing-in ceremony.

Rajapaksa is expected to take oaths in Anuradhapura today. He is the first Sri Lankan President to take oaths in the historic city of Anuradhapura.

Many world leaders from every part of the world have extended wishes to the new President of Sri Lanka.

"Sustaining the victory is more important than the journey towards it," Rajapaksa tweeted earlier today, hours before his swearing-in ceremony.
