First official postal votes result is expected soon, our sources at the Elections Secretariat said.

Postal votes are still being counted at counting centres across the country. The process began around 5.30 PM in many centres.

However, it is learnt that SLPP candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is leading in postal votes in several districts.

Official results will be released to the media after being certified by the Elections Commission.
