The Centre for Monitoring Election Violence(CMEV) has reported 139 violations as at 1 PM today.

The majority of these incidents involve illegal campaigning, intimidation, attempts at influencing.

However, the shooting incident targetting Muslim voters in the North Central province early this morning marred the peaceful nature of the election campaign.

Meanwhile, two supporters of Minister Ravindra Samaraweera have also been arrested for assaulting SLPP supporters in Ohiya.
