President Maithripala Sirisena has assured the Elections Commission that he will only address the nation once the polling is over on November 13.
Sources close to the President initially said Sirisena would address the nation today (November 13).
However, Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya told the media that he had a discussion with the President on the same matter.
The Elections Commission had a discussion with the President on the basis that the latter's address to the nation might influence the public opinion on the Presidential election.
