Several SLFP organizers who attended the Api Sri Lanka convention organized by former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga will be removed from their posts.
Informed political sources said the SLFP Central Committee arrived at a decision to remove them from their current posts.
The Central Committee met last night under the patronage of SLFP Acting Chairman Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa.
The party has decided to appoint new organizers in their place with immediate effect.
Among those who attended the convention were Parliamentarian Kumara Welgama and former Minister Athauda Seneviratne.
Addressing the convention, Welgama said they would initiate action against SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekera after the Presidential election.
